Local Knowledge

Roofing, Siding & Window Insights for Oakdale

Oakdale requires roofing permits, which we pull. A local pattern worth knowing: many Oakdale homes still carry their original or second builder-grade roof from the 80s or 90s, and when hail hits those, insurance frequently owes full replacement rather than repair, but only if the documentation makes the case. That’s our specialty.

Oakdale is an established inner-ring Washington County suburb just east of St. Paul, built up largely through the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s. Its housing leans toward ramblers, split-levels, and modest two-stories from that era, now well past their original roofs, siding, and windows.

We replace mid-life architectural shingles, re-side in vinyl, LP SmartSide and James Hardie, and swap seal-failed windows for efficient units. Oakdale’s east-metro location still sees its share of hail and wind, so storm and insurance-claim work is steady, and it’s an easy drive from our St. Paul Park office.

In the Community

We Know Oakdale

Oakdale grew up in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s along the I-694 corridor, established neighborhoods around Tanners Lake and Oakdale Park, split-levels and two-stories through the city’s core, and newer townhome and single-family pockets toward Lake Elmo. It’s a practical, well-kept east-metro city, and its housing is aging on a predictable clock.

The 70s and 80s homes are due or overdue for their second roof; the 90s stock is coming into range now. Because whole neighborhoods here went up together, they age together, when we re-roof one house on a block, the neighbors are usually a season or two behind.

Oakdale is minutes from our shop, and we’ve worked its streets for years, roofs, siding, windows, and the storm claims that come with east-metro weather.

Recent Storm Activity

Recent Storm Damage in Oakdale

Oakdale has caught several of the east metro’s recent hail events head-on, the same cells that hit Woodbury and Maplewood run right across it, and some Oakdale neighborhoods have been through full insurance restoration in the past decade.

If hail has been through, get a free inspection even if the roof looks fine from the driveway, bruising on aging 80s-era shingles is nearly invisible from the ground and completely claimable up close. We document it, file it right, and walk the roof with your adjuster.
