Anoka wears its history well, the old county seat where the Rum River meets the Mississippi, with Victorian-era homes and four-squares on the streets near downtown, mid-century neighborhoods rippling outward, and newer construction along the edges. The town that calls itself the Halloween Capital of the World has some of the north metro’s most characterful old housing.
