What is drip edge?

Drip edge is the metal strip installed along the eaves and rakes of your roof. It directs runoff into the gutter and away from the fascia and sheathing, preventing rot along the roof’s edge. Minnesota code requires it on new roofs.

What is flashing?

Flashing is metal that seals the vulnerable joints — valleys, chimneys, skylights, vents, and where the roof meets a wall. It bridges gaps shingles can’t cover.
